Resumo

Introdução: A dor na coluna em pilotos e tripulantes militares compromete a segurança das operações. Evidências na área sugerem que o emprego de exercícios físicos pode reduzir a intensidade e/ou a prevalência de dor em diferentes regiões da coluna, porém os resultados são conflitantes.

Objetivo: Avaliar na literatura se o exercício físico é capaz de reduzir a intensidade ou a ocorrência da dor em diferentes regiões da coluna vertebral em pilotos e tripulantes militares, considerando estudos experimentais presentes na literatura.

Métodos: Estudo de revisão sistemática com busca realizada em dez bases científicas, utilizando frase de busca contendo descritores para a variável de desfecho e de exposição. Não houve restrição de idioma ou data de publicação. Foi utilizada a estratégia PICOS (Patient; Intervention; Control; Outcome(s); Study design), para estabelecer os critérios de elegibilidade dos estudos  As recomendações Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA 2020 Statement) foram seguidas para sua redação.

Resultados e Discussão: Foram encontrados 17.522 estudos. Após aplicados os critérios de exclusão, nove trabalhos integraram o presente estudo, dentre os quais quatro demonstraram resultados favoráveis ao exercício físico. Os estudos apresentaram grande variabilidade nos protocolos de exercício e outros problemas metodológicos.

Conclusão:  Permanece inconclusivo se exercícios físicos são capazes de reduzir a intensidade e/ou a prevalência da dor na coluna vertebral em pilotos e tripulantes militares. Os resultados foram discutidos.
