Methods: Observational, cross-sectional, and descriptive study, with retrospective data obtained from the Physical Aptitude Test (TAF) of 1,634 trainees (93.45% men). Data were classified according to sex and age. Descriptive statistics were presented.

Results: The averages presented by the graduates were: 42±4.61 of rower abdominal style repetitions; 7.37±0.54 seconds in the displacement speed test; and 2502±255 meters in the Cooper test. The mean of VO2max among the male graduates was 44.4±5.66 ml/kg/min and in the female graduates 35.1±4.66 ml/kg/min. Cardiorespiratory fitness was classified between good and excellent for 97.7% of the men and 71% of the female graduates. The localized abdominal resistance strength was between good and excellent for 91.6% of male and 51.4% of the female students.

Conclusion: Graduates of the PMESP Sergeant Training Course presented physical fitness classified between good and excellent. This result indicates that the physical training program applied in the classes is adequate to maintain the expected physical condition.
