Abstract
Introduction: As part of this Special Issue, the Revista de Educação Física / Journal of Physical Education (REF/JPE) is bringing scientific aspects of physical training for high performance in sports and military operational activity.
Objective: The objective of the present study was to present and indicate the reading of the study by Berriel et al. that examined the effect of a training session with and without the intervention of post-activation potentiation (PAP) on the vertical jump, perceived recovery status (PRS) and rating of perceived exertion (RPE) in high-performance volleyball athletes.
Conclusion: The study showed that there was a positive effect on vertical jump with countermovement, with an improvement of 16.3%. The findings were discussed, along with the results regarding PSR and RPE. The reading is recommended for those interested in the subject.
